My dear Edith Maryon!
Five lectures have now been delivered fairly well. The audience, a small proportion of whom are men, are very attentive. I am in good health. Last night was the special lecture in Bingley. It was quite an art, because the lecture and translation were only allowed to last an hour. And so I had to explain the essence of human education and the Waldorf school in half an hour.
Thank you for the snow, which arrived safely and in good time. The Waldorf teachers have had great success with their evening lectures and discussions. Next week, there will also be an exposition of eurythmy figures, similar to the one in Oxford.
Ilkley is a kind of health resort for northern English industrialists, who probably came from farming backgrounds. The area is not particularly attractive.
The address of the next course is: Penmaenmawr, North Wales, Grand Hôtel. Here we have just completed half of the first course this evening. Today the 6th lecture will be at 10 o'clock.
I hope that everything is going well there and that recovery is progressing. The letters have arrived here, and I thank you very much for them and send my warmest thoughts.

Meine liebe Edith Maryon!
Es sind nun 5 Vorträge ganz gut absolviert. Die Zuhörer, die allerdings zum geringen Teil Männer sind, sind sehr aufmerksam. Meine Gesundheit geht gut. Gestern abend war der besondre Vortrag in Bingley. Das war allerdings eine Kunst, denn Vortrag und Übersetzung durften nur eine Stunde dauern. Und so habe ich denn in 1/2 Stunde das Wesen der Menschenerziehung und der Waldorfschule auseinandersetzen müssen.
Vielen Dank für den Schnee, der ganz gut und rechtzeitig angekommen ist. Die Waldorflehrer mit ihren Abendvorträgen und Diskussionen haben großen Erfolg. Nächste Woche folgt dann auch die Exposition der Eurythmie-Figuren in der Art, wie das auch in Oxford war.
Ilkley ist eine Art Kurort für nordenglische Industrielle, die es aber wohl aus Bauern geworden sind. Die Gegend ist nicht besonders anziehend.
Die genaue Adresse des nächsten Kurses ist: Penmaenmawr, North Wales, Grand Hôtel. Hier haben wir heute Abend gerade die Hälfte des ersten Kurses absolviert. Heute wird der 6. Vortrag um 10 Uhr sein.
